Itinerary
Start anticipating your African adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day on safari to bring.
This safari begins and ends at Durban International Airport.
DAY 1 & 2: BATTLEFIELDS
On arrival at Durban International Airport you will be met by a member of the team, who will take you through your travel documentation, providing self-drive tips and advice on the areas that you will be visiting. You will then make your way to the Battlefields Region of KwaZulu-Natal.
Spend two nights at your choice of the following:
- A standard room at Fugitives' Guest Lodge.
- A standard room at Fugitives’ Drift Lodge.
DAY 3 & 4: ST LUCIA
Make your way towards the lush Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park on the Maputaland coast.
- Spend two nights at your choice of the following:
- A standard room at Rocktail Beach Camp.
- A standard room at Thonga Beach Lodge. Adventures include snorkeling, guided walks, canoing and sundowners on Lake Sibaya.
- A sea-view room at Thonga Beach Lodge. Adventures include snorkeling, guided walks, canoing and sundowners on Lake Sibaya.
DAY 5 & 6: PHINDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Depart for Phinda Private Game Reserve.
Spend two nights at your choice of the following:
- Glass suites at Phinda Forest Lodge.
- Glamorous suites at Phinda Mountain Lodge.
- Luxury suites at Phinda Rock Lodge or Phinda Vlei Lodge.
Each option includes twice-daily game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles and one hour nature walks (subject to availability), accompanied by experienced and armed trackers.
DAY 7: DURBAN
Make your way to Durban International Airport to drop off your rental vehicle. You will be met by a member of the team, who will assist you with your check-in for your departure flight.

Six days’ hire of a Group X car calculated on a 24-hour period, including the contract fee, unlimited kilometers, super collision damage waiver, super theft loss waiver, Europ assist, tourism levy, value added tax, airport surcharge, option for mobile phone rental (must be booked in advance), national and regional maps, inbound guide / useful information for the tourist and traveler booklet.
Excluded
Gratuities, porterage and all items of a personal nature.
Meals not included above.
All drinks and refreshments not included above.
Day tours and entrance fees not included above.
At Phinda: champagne, cognacs, cellar wines, premium brand spirits, cigars, cigarettes, additional activities and government bed levy.
Single traveler supplement.
Single room supplement applicable at some lodges, if booking more than two single rooms.
All scheduled domestic and International flights, visas and airport taxes.
Gasoline and toll road fees, claim handling administration fee, a ZAR 1 000.00 refundable deposit, additional driver charge, young driver surcharge and cross border fees, if applicable, windscreen damage, tire, rim and hubcaps damage, water and undercarriage damage, towing charges, fine handling fees, no show charges, baby seats, trailers, insurance, call charges on mobile phone and one way drop off and delivery fees.

Please take note that the luggage restriction for the charter flights is 20kg in small soft bags.
Due to the increasing global cost of oil, fuel levies on scheduled and private flights as well as road transfers, may increase at any given moment. As this is not a lodge charge, this cost will unfortunately be passed onto our guest.
