Game Reserves
Tanzania is widely considered one of the top places for game viewing across all of Africa. Some of the world’s most famous game reserves are found here, including the renowned Serengeti National Park. This is where thousands of wildebeest make their annual migration from Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve through the Serengeti and into the fertile and game-rich Ngororongo Crater. The Serengeti is a vast expanse of open grasslands that is home to a huge array of wildlife, from lion to elephant – spanning as far as the eye can see. The Lake Manyara National Park is another outstanding reserve, with thousands of pink flamingo dotting the landscape and many other species to be found.
Beaches
Another major highlight of holidays in Tanzania is the warm, unspoiled beaches along the coast. Fringed by tall swaying palm trees, the water is teeming with tropical fish and other marine life, and with soft white sand and spectacular views of fishing boats in the distance, these beaches are famous for their peaceful and tranquil nature and pristine conditions.
Tanzania Culture
Tanzania culture offers a taste of relaxed island life, with friendly locals always ready with a smile and a welcoming, “Jambo!” (hello) for visitors. The language most widely spoken in Tanzania is Swahili, which is easy to learn, and spoken by almost all Tanzanians. Beautiful craft and artwork can be found, including the famous ‘Tinga Tinga’ paintings, which are colourful, vibrant and exquisitely done.
